David Unlayao, aka The Filipino Cowboy, is a soulful singer-songwriter bringing a refreshing take to country-pop. As an independent artist, he has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday All-Genre, landed on the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds, and was selected for Apple Music’s Color Me Country Class of 2025.
Hailing from Vancouver, Washington, David quickly made his mark, earning two Nashville residencies within his first year. His song “Front Row Seat” sparked a wave of attention on social media, while his latest EP, 7 Wonders, featuring the title track as a single and single “Heartbreak,” took him on an East Coast tour and to London’s Long Road Festival. He has also been a recurring artist at CMA Fest.
David has been featured on the nationally syndicated radio program “Nights with Elaina” as well as Nashville’s 96.7 FM. His music has also been promoted by Mapco after he won their inagural "Song Of The Summer" contest and he also secured a placement with Heinz. He is currently in the studio recording his next EP, expected in the fall.
